ARC Flash Visors & Fire-Retardant Clothing
Product Description:

ARC Flash Visors & Fire-Retardant (FR) Clothing provide life-saving thermal and electrical arc flash protection for technicians and emergency recovery teams working around high-voltage systems (up to 800V DC). Designed specifically to mitigate the hazards of violent arc faults, high-heat release, and molten metal splatter during high-voltage battery disconnects or post-collision handling, this personal protective equipment (PPE) ensures full-body thermal resistance and optical safety without compromising operator dexterity or field visibility.

Key Technical Specifications:

Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV): Rated at minimum 8 cal/cm² to 12 cal/cm² (PPE Category 2), providing robust protection against high-energy thermal exposures.

Standards Compliance: Fully compliant with NFPA 70E, IEC 61482-2 (Arc Flash Clothing), and EN 166 / GS-ET-29 (Arc-Tested Face Shields).

Optical Visor Quality: Anti-fog, anti-scratch polycarbonate face shield with high Light Transmittance (VLT > 60%) to ensure accurate color recognition of high-voltage wiring (orange, red, black).

Inherently Flame-Resistant Fabric: Manufactured from aramid/modacrylic blends that will not melt, drip, or ignite when exposed to direct flames or electrical arcing.

Ergonomic & Breathable Fit: Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabric construction with adjustable visor ratchet headgear for prolonged comfort during complex recovery operations.

Primary Applications in EV Handling:

High-Voltage Battery Disconnection: Worn when pulling service disconnect plugs, cutting emergency lines, or manual battery isolation on compromised EVs.

Post-Accident Scene Management: Protects first responders and tow operators from unexpected electrical arcing or rapid thermal energy release on crashed vehicles.

Live System Diagnostics & Testing: Used during insulation resistance checks or live voltage testing around exposed 400V/800V busbars and inverters.

Fire & Off-Gassing Protection: Provides supplementary flame protection during early-stage battery cell off-gassing or thermal runaway containment.
