Low-Angle Recovery Ramps and Air Suspension Beds are specialized vehicle transportation systems engineered specifically to handle the structural vulnerabilities of electric vehicles (EVs). Most EVs feature heavy, underbody lithium-ion battery packs, low ground clearance, and long wheelbases, making them susceptible to severe chassis or battery enclosure damage when loaded onto standard recovery trucks.
By utilizing extra-long hydraulic tilt ramps or full-drop air suspension beds, these systems reduce the loading approach angle down to as low as 3°–5°. This ultra-low entry angle ensures smooth, scrape-free loading, allowing recovery operators to transport low-clearance EVs safely without risking battery frame scraping, structural damage, or expensive underbody repairs.
